As i said in a preview article i want also comment the way i build my house. You remember i bought that old Castle and i try to fix it step by step. Sometimes i have some help and sometimes i do it on my own.
Today i want show you my kitchen. Alan you might remember
The Kitchen was not really a part of the house itself. So I made a very large hole into the wall between the main house and that part. In the past it got used as a garage for a carpenter. But the room was so BIG and i saw it as it might look in the end and made the decision that i want use it absolutely as our Kitchen. Once all the old machines got taken out of the room we had a first base:
And from the other side:
We started then to get rid on the stuff on the ceiling and get the wood onto the walls. Behind that wood we made insulation. Sure the walls are 60cm thick and made out of sandstone but i want make sure we do not need to much heading costs:
After all the installation for the heading, water and power was done (sorry i don’t have the photos currently
) we made the floor. It all is very cool wood which i assambled piece by piece ontop of a own made underconstruction. After it was build i fixed the cover and abraded it, then i painted it with clear coat:
The Walls got primed before we started to add the wallpapers:
Once we had done all the work so far you can see here the most done result
It is still a lot of work left but from that old room to a new Kitchen it was a long way and a lot of hours i had to invest. But it is really HUGE (about 65 sqm (x9 for ft)) and we love it.
So see here. Our Bar which still need work to get it “integrated” correctly:
Place where i cook (and i LOVE to cook!):
From the cooking place to the cabinets:
As you can see, i take all the space i need to cook (my wife hates it but love the food which comes out
):
After lunch or dinner we like to sit in the kitchen and watch TV or just talk. Therefor we took a sofa in. Our Table is 2.50meters long and 1meter width and 10 People could sit on it:
This Box is from 1750 and comes straight from the USA and have a nice history. We store some very old wine in it:
Cu and take care.
