Well what does Apple because their OS X is not everything Zusammengeklaut?
Innovation can not call it if Apple ObjectDock of their widgets and its Web browser from KDE and the kernel of Mac and BSD zusammenklaut?

But what Apple certainly can and usually always was, it is these ideas up and be the first together and then neatly to market. That you have to leave Apple. Just as it was with the graphical interface and mouse control managed, they are also with their OS X made.

What is KDE 4. Yes, it is much known "stolen". However, I see nothing reprehensible because the KDE team is not trying to hide, such as that with Windows Vista, Microsoft has done.
In addition, the programs in KDE, then at least reasonably stable and running, unlike the Windows applications.
What innovation in Linux is concerned, one can KDE 4, not directly on Linux generalize. In Linux, there are many interesting innovations with a forward. You just see the virtualization software with Linux is experiencing its heyday. SELinux think that in matters of security sets new standards. Consider that a ffmpeg innovation in video and audio codecs was / is. Consider many different things, such as in Synaptic as a package manager or apt-get or yum or Compiz Fusion, that graphically sets new standards and much more graphically than the OS X effects.
In addition, there are many more innovations in the open source and free software world, with or indirectly attributable to Linux.
The new social communities, for example, and social networking services, by LUGs were virtually even in the modern world use the Internet.
So there are a lot of innovation in the Linux world. However, it is almost like always. This innovation should be looking beyond the mainstream. And KDE 4 is definitely mainstream, shows that the KDE team is always yes.

To update:

1st KDE 4.0 is not an OS.
2nd KDE 4.0 is just what its software developers to port.
3rd KDE 4.0 brings a lot of technologies that are strongly connected to the server principle of BeOS / ZETA remember.
4th The basic design of KDE 4 is not finished yet. It will be changed until it is so minimalist looks like it wants. It is not forced this "standard design" to remember.
5th Here a small demo, the KDE 4 somewhat accurately explains: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6642148224800885420&hl=en

And I say it once KDE 4.0 is currently only for developers so they can port their applications. With KDE 4.1 (in June / July to appear) can be the first with a home desktop user right variant expected.

I missed what Leszek? Or perhaps you?

That is the release, due to humanity was released, there is no question of "developer version" :) These were the betas and RCs ....

Sorry, I've tried it again yesterday and I stick to it: It is bad grotto : (

Bernd, you're right there is a final version 4.0. However, we recommend the KDE team quite clearly for desktop users to version 4.1 to wait.
According to Video Version 4.0 for developers to have been provided with the "architecture" and coping with porting applications.
KDE's the years since. The X.0 point for desktop users is always a zero-point ;)
It serves the port and developers to prepare applications. Consider Amarok 2 the still in beta and not stuck with KDE 4 will be extradited.
That was when version 3.0 was the same. Likewise, the conservative distribution updates to understand. One hesitates there just like you would a few years ago after appearing in version 3.0 did. It will only be released test versions and parallel to the stable KDE 3.5.8 series offered.
Nevertheless, the KDE 4 team which promised 4.1er version later this year appear to be.
Moreover, lacking some desktop specific things in KDE 4.0. Plasma desktop component is such as not quite ready. The Plasmanoids will also be updated and the search must still be built. Strigi (the search) is not yet included.
If you've seen the video, you have to understand it better. It is quite clear there said.

Addendum here where the link inside is that we as a desktop user to wait for version 4.1 or should not be 3.5x users should switch to 4.0:

So I must Bernd right. KDE4 caves is bad.
've Tried times and had downright shocked.

Open Large.
Then this widget Pfuiii trafficking.
I personally do not believe this is what users in the desktop version 4.1 changes.
But let me be happy surprise.

Moreover, the KDE4 my wireless settings when installing on the pile geschmissen. There was nothing more to rescue.
Thank you KDE

KDE developer of kitsch = ;)
